About this site
This site has a few purposes.
To entertain
To educate
To create a community that revolves around competitive gaming, not just around one game
To provide an outlet for professional gamers and gamers that would like a way to give to the community through writing, making videos, making artwork, etc., etc.
That's it. I want everyone to come here to have a good time watching videos and reading articles. I try to keep sections lighthearted, and I try to add in humor here and there. I want everyone to come here and leave with more competitive knowledge than they have before. I want everyone to come here and find kindred spirits that they can connect to regardless of the fact that they may play different games. I want gamers with a lot of knowledge and skill to have somewhere to go if they wish to give to the community.
Even the best of gamers have to resort to forum posts when they want to give out information, and that just won't do. Any gamer that writes for this site, or creates videos, have my permission and blessing to use their articles to help them find a sponsor. Sponsors may be much more willing if they have a link from every article they create, or an advertisement at the end of a video, and that will help the competitive gaming community grow.
But in the end, this site is a project of my own that I am making for myself. I enjoy doing this.
I have google ads on the bottom, and hopefully enough people click them or look at them over time to help me pay the bandwidth bills. I also have a large banner to the right which I sell cheap ad space on for either a week or a month. While I am technically putting on my whore-hat when I speak of advertising in that banner, that banner is more for the community than anything else. While anyone and anything can advertise, I give discounts to tournaments, both online and offline. Competitive gamers like competitive tournaments, and they can go in that little banner on the side. At the same time, the more money I get from advertising the more money I get to spend on capturing equipment and computer parts (my computer is severely dated and falling apart).
But now on to the site. Here is a quick little tour...
HOME
That's just that, it send you home! I have three handy-dandy "home" links, one at the top, one at the bottom, and one under the banner on the right. While just clicking Alt+left on your keyboard should help you backtrack, I've always been a big fan of sites that give you multiple Home links. Doesn't cost me anything, so there it goes.
Forums
The forums. These forums are where I look for future writers. I will look elsewhere, but this is the first place I go. So if you have your own articles in the same vein of NSCS, plop them in the forums and you might just get an e-mail from me.
NSCS
This brings you to a page that shows you every game I am working on at the moment. When you activate one of the links, you'll find that the upper navigation has changed. You know can browse through Articles, Videos, or Interviews. Everything I have fits into one of those three sections, so think about what you're looking for and go at it.
Blog
My blog. Simple as that! This is a personal blog, but it will have heavy emphasis on gaming and gaming-related subjects. Every article there is split into different categories, so if you want to skip out on reading entries that are about my life rather than gaming, you can do so.
Extras
The black sheep of the website. I basically put whatever I want there that doesn't fit somewhere else. I currently have a list of some useful links that I will be updating over time (if you think you should be on that list, send me an e-mail at Overswarm@gmail.com), and that's about it.
In the future, I may have links to single player videos for entertainment purposes, or maybe a link to a store if I ever get around to that. Just know that this page is more of a slopfest meant for those that enjoy this kind of stuff, and that it may not be as polished as other pages.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions. This is basically a pre-emptive strike on ignorance, as anyone who has any common question can help themselves by reading this page.
Contact
Deliberately put on the bottom so it doesn't clutter up the top, this is how you contact me, or anyone else that is a steady worker for NSCS.
Updates
Sometimes people don't want to browse through every little page and just want a page full of updates. That's where this page comes in! You can put this site in your favorites and check it from time to time and it can save all you busy gamers a few precious seconds.
That's the website. Plain, simple, straightforward and subject to change. I'm a big fan of community involvement, so if you have any ideas, post them on the forums or send me an e-mail!
